1. Hacienda-el-Miguel

Offers the chance of a "laid-back" holiday in the sun, particularly for families or groups with disabled members, however, the special features are not obtrusive and in no way spoil the enjoyment of the others. The apartments sleeps four adults and two children maximum, though I recommend no more than 2 wheelchairs at a time.

Therefore, as the apartment only cost one set rate,  it can be so amazingly economical when costs are shared!

Bed linen and cleaning is included in my charges.
( please note bed linen is supplied but towels are not supplied automatically these need to be ordered in advance, so if you need towels let Pete(cps) know) Which leaves you to find food and entertainment. A sort of Do-It-Yourself Holiday. I can also help with advice on flights and car hire (and a car is strongly recommended)

Specialist features, include :-Ramped Entrance, Wide Doors, Supa-Loo and many, many others,

The only (ramped) back door in the complex leads into the ground floor apartment, into the laundry room (with washing machine for clothes) then to the Kitchen /Lounge/Diner with newly fitted wheelchair height work surfaces and double bed settee.

Leading off on the right is the hallway, giving access to both the twin single and double bedrooms, and the floor level shower room with fitted Clos-o-Mat wash-blow dry loo and shower chair. Both bedrooms are fitted with bed head grabrails (also two patient assistors available). The shower room fully fitted with handrails and non-slip flooring.

2. Location

Cabo Roig is a cape, in prime location on the Sun Drenched Costa Blanca, about 34 miles South of Alicante, your destination airport!

3. What's to do from Hacienda-el-Miguel??

Obviously, sun-bathing and swimming; two beaches are nearby, at 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile respectively, both under a twenty minute walk albeit with hills, or just plain poolside lounging in the extra friendly green belt low-rise "Sol-y-Verde II" complex area, which starts outside the ramped front door. Also in the area is, Golfing, Tennis, Squash, Wind-Surfing and Yachting. Walks along the scenic headland path are linked up with the green belt path running past the front of the apartment.

Bathing in the sea at nearby Torreveija (7k), because of the high salt content, is particularly beneficial to people suffering from skin disorders, circulation problems, arthritis and other joint problems.

Rent a car and discover the not-so-highly commercialised, historic side of Spain; try your luck at bargain hunting in the many local markets while the kids enjoy Go-Karting or swimming in the nearby Aqua Parks (even the grown up kids!). While at night there are many good places to eat, drink, dance and make merry until the early hours. Or you could have a barbecue and invite your friendly neighbours - have a "get to know you" evening!

But when you need a sleep, it's also nice and quiet.

Most of all, providing you keep to the common-sense rules of the complex, Hacienda-el-Miguel offers you: Freedom for all the fun under the sun, at your own pace!!!

4. What facilities are there?

Within the locality is a well-stocked supermarket (there is a hill). In the apartment are such mundane essentials as bed-pans/bottles/inco-sheets, all bedding, crockery and cooking utensils for six people, plus some swimming aids.

For the more careful user, my Jazzy right hand control outdoor electric wheelchair for local mobility at your own risk.

A selection of games and English/Spanish language books are all on hand in the apartment, with TV. and radio, and plenty of maps to plan future excursions, should the unthinkable happen and you are kept indoors by the weather.

There are many restaurant/bars in the nearby area. Most neighbours are English-speaking, and happy to advise if asked nicely!

Unfortunately there is not a bank or a chemist shop on the site. We do a recommend car for this sort of shopping and sight-seeing – there are several hills to negotiate in the vicinity. We can help to arrange car hire for you.

5. I'm still not sure!!!

It's a big decision booking a holiday, particularly if you have a disability. Being disabled myself, I know all the disillusionment, disappointment, frustration and inconvenience that can be caused by unsuitable holiday accommodation! So, let me warn you now before you book that there are some fairly steep hills around the apartment. Unless you intend to stay in the complex and relax around the pool and the bar all the time, I would strongly recommend that you hire a car on arrival. I can send you details and also help to arrange airport pick-up.

On request, a food starter pack can be arranged with my caretaker Peter Smith, also car hire or airport pick up, contact CPSservices tel: 0034 66 700470 or e-mail him cpsvilla@telefonica.net

So why not give me a call right now?
